📚 Continuing Education Approval Across the U.S.

Know Before You Learn: State-by-State CEU Requirements for Physical Therapists

Continuing education units (CEU) are essential for maintaining your Physical Therapy license and staying up to date with the latest evidence-based practices. However, each state has its own licensing board with unique rules for CEU approval. Some states require providers to apply directly for approval, while others accept courses approved by another state licensing board or the Board of Certified Athletic Trainers (BOCAT).

âś… Our CEU Approval Status

We’re proud to share that our course, Foundations of Concussion Management for the Rehab Professional, has been approved by the Missouri Board of Registration for the Healing Arts for continuing education credit for Physical Therapists and is pending approval from the BOCAT. This approval ensures that Physical Therapists licensed in Missouri can confidently count this course toward their license renewal requirements.

🌎 CEU Reciprocity: Where Else Is It Accepted?

Many state licensing boards accept CEUs that have been approved by another state—especially when the approving state has a rigorous review process like Missouri. To make it easier for you, we’ve created a visual map showing states that commonly accept CEUs approved elsewhere.

⚠️ Important: Even when reciprocity is common, final acceptance is always determined by your individual state board. We strongly recommend verifying with your state licensing authority before claiming CEUs toward license renewal.

🔍 What This Means for You

If you’re licensed in Missouri—great news! You’re already covered.
Licensed elsewhere? You may still be able to apply these CEUs toward your renewal. Many states allow this, but you should confirm your state’s policy.

🌱 We’re growing!

As our continuing education offerings expand, we plan to pursue direct approval in additional states that require individual provider registration.
If you would like your state added to our CEU approval list, please let us know! Your feedback helps us prioritize where to seek approval next.
